A book submission for BEYOND TREND from UK design firm, Vault 49
Beyond Trend will simply be a creatives blog about the challenges and passions experienced by those creatives who are obsessed with design (you know who you are, and what I mean by this) and for anyone who is continually on a mission to search for the new, to create the new, to invent the future.
My new book, BEYOND TREND, deals with this subject, look for it later in 2006 or early 2007 coming from HOW Books.

Thanks for mentioning me in your little picture book! I had a hard time finding it, as it wasn’t available at any bookstore or library, but I did end up getting it for a steal, just two dollars in the bargain bin at Amazon.com--brand new, no less! It took a while for me to get through it, given my challenge of lacking opposable thumbs. I liked the faux wood grain clip art, the cute little arrows, points and splashes, and especially the cartoon daisies, which remind me of those little sandpaper stickers my mama used to affix to the bathtub when I was little. Don’t pay attention to the reviews, after all, they’re just jealous and don’t have the capacity to understand and appreciate your brilliance.
I am curious, though, why you don’t have any of your own creations depicted in the book? Don’t you have any? Also, I’d love to hear about how the color of a little girl’s pony toy profoundly affects our culture, perhaps you could include that in your next book, if you have one?
As a creative, I’m glad that you explained to the mere mortals just how important and influential we are at shaping the destiny of humanity. I mean, without you, our little plastic ponies could be the wrong hue, causing economic breakdown, epidemics, world wars, and perhaps the downfall of humanity.
Anyway, keep up the good work and maybe someday you’ll get to influence some cool toys, like GI Joe or Transformers, or possibly write a book that doesn’t end up in the bargain bin a year after it’s published.
P.S. Love the orange and pink motif--did you get that from Dunkin' Donuts?
